Formed in 1999, The Fifth Line has been
determined to be heard. Since the beginning, vocalist,
Bernie Medina, guitarist, Javi Jimenez, drummer, Ray Fuentes and former
bassist Trey Keng knew that they had something different and they have
made it a point to take their music as far as they could. Their music
has a range of different emotions, sounds, and moods ranging from very
melodic, to intense, and aggressive verses. The Fifth Line is different
because their musical and stage presence surpasses those of other local
artists.
The band started off playing at bars and clubs in their
hometown of Laredo, Texas and quickly gathered a huge fan base. Soon
after, they started to play in cities around Texas such as San Antonio,
McAllen, San Marcos, Del Rio, Corpus Christi, Austin, and across the
border in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico.
In 2003, The Fifth Line decided to pack up and
move to San Antonio where they could have a bigger opportunity to get
their music heard. In the last year the band has received a large interest
from fans, local artist, bar owners, and Indie labels. In 2004, former
bass player Trey Keng left the band to pursue other projects. With the
vision of a very strong career ahead, the band recruited friend and
bassist, P Cantu. In early 2005 The Fifth Line decided to welcome an
additional guitarist to the band and expand the music making. Kept in
mind for some time now, the band-recruited guitarist, Manny Ramirez,
also of Laredo. Now this very strong, dedicated, and focused band is
about to show everyone their style of intense
hard rock and outgoing stage presence. This band is sure to leave a
big mark in the hard rock scene on San Antonio and other cities as it
has done in Laredo.
Due to different aspects of focus the band released
Ray Fuentes, and Manny Ramirez. The Fifth Line is currently searching
a new drummer.
